Is this going to raise any eyebrows?
I'm bringing my car in monday to get my whining differential gears looked at. If I replace my LCAs this weekend, do I have to worry about anything? Could they blame replacing the LCAs causing the ring and pinion whining? I wouldn't think so but what do you think?
Depends on the dealer.
I took mine in to have them check out a tranny leak, and it had the long tubes on already. They didn't care. Since they couldn't pinpoint the leak, and asked me to bring it back later (after I added dye to the engine oil so they could rule out an oil leak). I told them I was going to install a supercharger soon and asked if that would cause me any grief later on, and the service advisor told me no.
But, I have also heard horror stories where some dealers tried to blame axlebacks for engine problems.

nevermind, it was 55 and nice out today. Tomorrow rain all day and heavy snow on Sunday. Man I love New England.

I don't think they will give you grief on the LCAa for a gear whine. I have heard of them jacking with someone that had their car lowered and had a whine though.

the rear and pinion whining I dont think would be the cause of the LCA's, its a suspension part.

True, but the LCA's could definitely transmit more noise into the car. A sharp tech might catch that.

A sharp tech will catch the whine and fix it! Now the question is, where are you gunna find a sharp tech???

If my son was not here I would move in a flash but for health reasons I need him close at hand. When he moves up the corporate ladder I hope it is not to Washington State because I will not move there.

You're right that there are few good techs out there. I've tried to leave my car with them to fix my driveline vibration and clunky front end. But after brief converstions with clueless service advisors, I just had to leave.
I still hold out hope that somebody, somewhere, knows something!
I wasn't complaining about New England, it's just that you can't predict the weather here and it can go from one extreme to the other in just a day.
I'm pretty much tied down to this area because of the industry I'm in anyway.
