Will they work with my stingers? I know what they do but besides that I haven't found much information. And Cai and udps were on my list eventually. I've thought about cams but I'm not crazy about them. Cool for other people tho. And the more I think about lt the more money I would have to spend for installation and the rest of the setup.
Hi flows will be louder than stock and give about 10 or so HP. The lower the DPI the less restrictive therefore louder and more HP gain. Bassani or Magnaflow are some of the most popular. Metal substrate is more expensive but more durable than ceramic. They will work with any axle back. You need to get some down pipes (from your maniflods) or have someone fab some up for you. You can keep the hi flows and run them with the LTs in the future. The UDPs will also help in the MPG area also, so as a DD car I would move those up the list. I would suggest the CAI/tuner, UDPs and the hi flow cats to start. You can run 87 during the week and switch to 91/93 for the weekends using the tuner. Alot of these you can find in various forums used.

Thanks! That really does help a lot. I've been considering all these things but that helps really put the list together.

If there was an award for answering a question and being helpful you would def get it. Thanks again

You can say that all you want, and while I agree its what you put to the pavement that matters, that is where all official engine horsepower ratings are taken.

Reminds me of a Top Gear episode where they put a '07 GT500 on a dyno and fussed about it only making 447hp.

I don't Care what an engine can put out. If it can't put it to the wheels then its pointless to even talk about it.

I have a ignorant question (I know, again) is it the motor that dictates how much power gets to the floor, or is it the drive train/suspension in general? Such as:

Late gen supra w 1200 hp only running 12s

Or my friends 540+ wrhp 03 cobra losing every race till 3rd gear by finally hooking... ( I think hE just can't launch it properly though)

Its a combination of everything really. You need good tires, suspension, tranny etc to put down the power.

Camaros/TAs are bad about power loss due to rear end and trannys right?

a good chassis set up, weight transfer, gearing, etc all going into it. A strong T56 and Ford 9" might help with breaking things but isn't going to help with parasitic loss. Other things can be done to reduce the effects like lighten unsprung weight for starters. A whole page could go into this but in short getting the car to hook, transfer the weight so the nose isn't too high or bouncy and keeping the weight transfered just enough to keep it hooked so it will pull the hell out of itself down the track is about what you want. another factor is HP to weight ratio..example: A 500-600hp 3200-3500lb car only gets low to mid 12sec 1/4 mile times while the same 500-600hp in a 2200-2500lb gets into the 11s or even 10s. Most of the new stuff on the road today has to over come alot of weight a trade off to being much safer, comfy and bigger.
