I had a Ford tech originally install my gears...and NINE hours later(seriously) they were in...after we practically put them in for him. The reason I originally wanted an outside installer was to avoid the whine, which I then ended up having a fellow shop owner fix because the "tech" had no idea wtf he was doing. Dealers/techs aren't always what they're cracked up to be. My suggestion...find a shop that does gears day in and day out. Not only will they be able to get them installed in a couple hours, they'll know best how to avoid whine and make proper adjustments in the future should you develop whine.
