I have my FRPP 4.10s, FRPP gear install kit, RTV silicone, FRPP friction modifier and all I think I need now is gear oil. I was leaning towards Mobil 1 because that's pretty much all I can find locally that's synthetic. Can I use the FRPP friction modifier with Mobil 1?

Thats what I ended up using. Amsoil is what they say is the best, but it is hard to come by.

Dustin,
Mobil I synthetic will work great and the Ford friction modifier will also work fine. I am using Redline but that is because I had 7 qts. left over from when I had my 96 Cobra. Mobil 1 claims to already have friction modifiers in it but I would still add the Ford stuff. Won't hurt a thing!!

Dustin,
Get 5 Qts of Mobil 1 plus your friction modifier (4 ozs.) The rear end will hold about 75/80 ozs. Fill it until it comes out of the fill plug when the car is on a level surface and you done my man!!!

Thanks guys, I'll report on Monday night. I'm really not going to have any traction with the X-Ice tires. It's rough now with the stock gears. I found a local performance shop that installs for $200!

Buy 4 pints of Amsoil with their friction modifier. You can get it online, that's what I did.

I hope you bought 5 little ones because I bought 2 big bottles of Mobile 1 and I had some left over. Man I hope I'm not running really low.

Mobile 1 works like a champ!
