Gas prices really shot up today!

 Anybody getting fairly decent mileage out of their '05 GT manual? My brother-in-law works in Topeka and he paid $2.26 for a gallon this morning! Good thing I only live 3 to 4 miles from work. When i finally get the car after nearly 6 months of waiting, I hope I can afford to fill it up! Way to go George W - you're doing a great job of screwing up this country!

Who do you blame your lack of education on?

I'm all for free markets. But these gas companies are a scam. Yesterday morning on national news,"You may see gas prices rise shortly". $1.79 @9:00am. by noon, price was $2.10 at same gas station. This morning the realized maybe we went to high. Ok, then 9:00am this morning backed off to $1.99 at same station. What a scam. How ever, if it's $4.00 a gallon, I'll still get my stang since it's going to be my summer car only. Just don't tell the gas company.

At the risk of being political, it is obvious that anything that goes wrong these days is Bush's fault, and anything good is b/c of the Clinton administration. Next they (and by 'they' I mean liberals) will be blaming W for the holocaust, the Challenger blowing up, etc. Heck, why not blame him for the fall of Rome. Before you blame anything on our President, why don't you have a good coherent reason for WHY he is at fault, or WHAT he did to cause the situation rather than casting blame simply because you are a sore election loser. I will be the first one to listen to intelligent arguments, and I respect those who believe differently than I, but you have to at least try to make them.

Please, let's refrain from political discussions in this forum. They always degenerate into name calling, etc. Political discussions need to be in the "Off-Topic Chatter" forum.

On that note, the main reason the price of crude is high, is because the chinese are now starting to consume much more thna they have in the past. Welcome to capitalism. High demand, high(er) price. The OPEC ministers could increase the output, but they won't, they've taken a new stance on oil prices, namely higher.

It is bad. That's the biggest reason I'll never live or work in Houston unless I have absolutely NO choice. My current job takes me over to Houston two or three times a year to work for a few days and that's enough for me!
