Anyone else experience this problem before? I fueled up my Mustang today and when I started driving, it immediately felt slow and bogged down. I believe the fuel is bad or maybe they accidentally gave me a higher octane. Would a higher octane make your GT feel slower? I put in some fuel injection cleaner, and it's a little better now, but I still don't have the punch I use to have. I guess I'll have to wait for the fuel to burn out. I just hope this isn't going to be permenant or cause my engine any damage.

It can't be the higher octane fuel, I've used 98 and even 100 RON octane fuel a couple of times and never had any problems. It didn't improve performance either withour a proper tune, that's why I'm only using 95 RON (lowest rating around here).
The injector cleaner shows that maybe there was condensed water in the fuel. How cold was it that day and how close to empty was your tank?

Makes your car drive like a V-6??? Congratulations! As a V-6 owner I can tell you that the V-6 continues to be an awesome ride!!!
Personally I'd say you're right and got a tankful of bad gas. I'd have suggested adding some techron additive but you've already added some other injector cleaner. As such I'd say siphon the bad gas out (not likely) or take a long DRIVE and burn the gas up. When you refill go to a major branch gas station and add some techron to the tank.

Better buy a locking gas cap, that way you'll need to take the keys out of the ignition to fill up.

So I'm curious
What brand of gas and what level of octane did you put in your car?
But like others said you probably got a bad tank of gas and If I was you I wouldn't use that particular station anymore.
I personally try to stick with Shell's 92 octane (highest octane level in this part of the country) as much as I can but for those occasions when a Shell station isn't around I may use Chevron but never any of the ARCO's, Citrons, EXON's or any other 2nd tier gas station that there may be lying alongside the road.

Higher octane fuel certainly would not do that. In fact, when Kenne Bell tried some simple ways to gain power in the 05, their conclusion was that the stock engine picked up about 5 HP using a 91 or 93 octane over the 87.
Just a bad load of gas. You will probably want to run the tank as low as you can safely get it without running out of gas, before filling up again.

I was running 93 octane until I started to hear that it would cause more carbon buildup. Does anyone know if that is true? Im not complaining about using 87 but on 93 the car "felt" different. I dont know.

well i use 87....right now i have shell regular in my tank. i havent heard about carbon buildup but if u wanna find out about carbon buildup run premium for a week then at the end of the tank, go on the highway and bury thr trottle and then go home park and smell to see if u smell something

cyoon, was the tanker there when you were filling up? Filling up when the tanker is there resupplying the station will give you a bad tank of gas because all the crud gets stirred up from the bottom of the tank when the new gas goes in from the tanker.
