FRRP Stinger Install

Just got my ford racing performance stingers in from lethal performance for my 06 GT and ran into a problem. Got the pipe on and hangars bolted up but i cannot get the tips to line up with the cutouts in the bumper i cannot see any way of getting the hangars to toruque enough to get the tips lined up with the notches in the bumper for the tips. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated or my last bet is to show up at the ford dealer with the factory mufflers off and new pipes in the trunk when i pull up into the service bay which i don't think would be a good idea on my part!! LOL

seems like I read in another thread to loosen the clamps upstream on the pipes and adjust from there and hopefully you can get the right alignment. I guess I was lucky mine lined up right out of the box.

Yeah, what is said... loosen the mid-pipe connections. There are numerous threads/posts on this... You can also go to various mufflers's sites(Corsas, Flows, etc.) that will provide instructions as well. I, however, found it easier to just slightly bend the the hanger bar on the muffler itself. Fit was perfect.

Bill,

I like the sound of the stingers even with the cats. When you had this setup (before the off road pipe), did you have any problems with the stingers droning??

Thanks.

Ya should've went straight to the mid-pipe clamps for the tip adjustments, would've saved you about 5 hours and 15 minutes.

j/k Boltz, glad you got it 'straightened' out, if you ever swap out the axle-backs again, you know what to do.

The Stingers will drone between (roughly) 1700 to 1950 rpm's (cruising 55 to almost 70 mph). You'll know you're in the Drone Zone when your ear wax begins to loosen.
You and you passengers will quickly realize that this ain't no stock set-up!

I was originally thinking SLP Loudmouth but that clip really has me leaning toward the FRPP Stingers and probably the FRPP X-Pipe.

Does anyone have a vid comparing SLP LMs and FRPP Stingers? Are the LMs alot louder than the FRPPs?

Remember what I mentioned here about the Stingers...

Here's an entertaining clip on the SLP LM's up on YouTube.

BTW- the LM's are louder than the Stingers, but not by much. There is a tone difference too, Stingers being lower.
