FRPP supercharger

I installed last month a FRPP supercharger in my 05 Stang. Works great, however not long after the install I noticed that the pully wheel for the supercharger ate into the hood insulation. It has not cut completely though it to the hood. I haven't notice much to the hood itself other than it has missing paint now fromt he pully. Has anybody else had this problem? If so what did you do or what would you do if you were me.

I asked my shop if hood clearance would be an issue with the whipple/frpp blower, he told me that some have had to remove the insulation. If it's close enough to eat the insulation, I would get a hood with more clearance or at least remove the insulation (or cut a hole in the insulation?). I don't think mine even touches the insulation, seems like it's hit or miss if there is clearance issues on a per-car basis.

try some new engine mounts people have been saying they lower the car about 1/2" steeda has a pair for around 250 try tillmanspeed cr usually has discounts on steeda, with them installed your problem will be solved without costing you 800 bucks for a new hood or cutting/removing the insulation

yup happened on mine, discolored the front end of the pulley. i really dont mind it, as long as the pulley doesn't rust.

looks like I spoke to soon. Out of curiosity I double checked today, yea my blower pulley (and the front part of the blower!) touch the insulation, and the pulley has actually eaten through the insulation. Not sure if it's rubbing the actual hood or not, I'll cut a hole the insulation tomorrow and check it out farther. If it's rubbing the hood, looks like it'll be time for a new hood :-(

my whipple came with a paper note recommending to remove the hood liner as it's been known to have clearance issues with the pulley

well.. i have worse problems.. my shelby hood didn't clear the pulley or the air intake.. and i had to cut out the bottom layer to make it fit
the hood now has to undergo some extensive surgery to make it look right again
