Thumbs up

Hey all, Found this cobra crank on fleabay, just in case some one is in need. This one is selling for a good price..And I know many are doing rebuilds this winter.
I bought myself a new one last week, and also found a Teksid block the other day in excellent condition

Merry Christmas to all

Spiro,

Nice find... Tough time to buy it though... How does one know the condition of the thing? Has it been cut? Checked? I see there is a tag on it, but I don't know much about these...

Merry Christmas to you as well.

Well, it does say: "This crankshaft has been inspected and Professionally cleaned and ground to near brand new condition."

But, I don't always believe everything I read on the internet.

I would be reluctant to buy a used crank-the heart of the motor. That's just me. I would definately have it checked for specs. I've seen a crank that was laying down longways develop a sag just from sitting. They should be stored upright.

I agree. Nothing worse than a saggy crank... keep them upright!

Mike, I agree. One cannot be sure about the "true" condition of the crank. I have spoken with the gentleman selling this one, and I personally would have bought his, had I seen it one day prior than buying mine from a non returnable ebayer. I didnt ask about the crank, but I would think is has been cut, and ready to use with the proper size bearings. Its a 99 crank, and they have been known to be a little stronger.
Feel free to send him an email, Im sure he will answer any questions.

heres the link to a new one, and the vendor I chose..

Tough time to buy for sure, but thats when the great deals come up

Its true to keep the cranks upright, but thats over a loooong period of time to cause the sag..IMO. Im sure this one was recently inspected, and waiting for a good home lol

No problem, glad someone here won it, wanted to pass on a good deal.
Way to go George, what a bargain! I was watching the auction, and noticed some lucky "ebay newbie" just got a great deal..cool.

I like the late bid with seconds to spare...thats the way to do things there lol

Merry Christmas to all

Happy holidays to the "liberals" lol

LOL..I know, had I only waited a couple days longer, i would have benefited from these deals.
If this keeps up, Im going to buy another crank and throw it in my 05 block for a spare bottom end...
