Ford Recommends BP
Yeah. Citgo gas is bad. Money goes to Hugo Chavez to by tanks and guns and supply guerillas trying to overthrow pro-american government in Colombia. Please don't buy from Citgo if you can. I buy Valero, but it's a regional supplier. No Venezualan or Middle Eastern gas and the company is based in San Antonio Texas no less.
After seeing what a lower brand of gas did to my gas mileage (Wawa gas), and what BP did as well (Mileage also dropped), I only use Sunoco 93 Premium for my car. Plus, they are the only store in my area to NOT have higher credit card purchase prices! To charge more for gas because of the small % the CC companies charge is outrageous!!
I mean come on, who carries around $50-$130 in cash at all times? Sunoco is a top tier maker and my car runs awesome with it!!! Plus, its the cheapest in my area BY FAR!!! Even cheaper than the Wawa!!
What's a BP anyway? I've heard of these things, but never have I seen one... I use Chevron for the most part because the local Speedy Stop is like my car. Awesome. But this got me wondering:
GRAYPNY: "I don't buy any gas produced from oil from the middle east orVenezuela! "
Curiosity Questions, and truly, I am asking because I am honestly curious:
1) How do you know? I mean, *absolutely* know?
2) How much more do you spend compared to not caring?
3) How difficult is it when you go out of town to find said type of product?
I'm hoping you have a plethora of websites and facts, this interests me a bit. I'm trying to figure out how you don't have an empty tank all the time, but hey, if I can do it too... bonus. I'd rather spend the money elsewhere too.
/really rankled at OPEC's desire to keep oil at 80+ a barrel... for no reason other than money, and no cost increase to speak of. Greedy jerks.

found this. good news for those who use BP, Shell, Sunoco. Of course my Valero is not listed. And we all know where the money goes when you buy Citgo.

I try to only use Sunoco 93 or Shell 93. If it's early am, and I'm still out, then none of those are open around here so I'll have to use either Exxon or Conoco.. neither of which my car likes.
BP is actually "British Petroleum," a fairly large, international conglomerate, encompassing drilling, refining, distribution, and retail sales in several countries, predominantly in Europe, and now in the US after they bought out Standard Oil...
