Ford Racing Simulator
So I was just down at the NADA convention in Orlando for work.
As part of the Ford booth, Ford Racing had a modified GT set up on a Dyno machine with a computer hooked up to simulate a 1/4 run. The car had the new Whipple/Ford Racing super charger on it along with many other mods. They said it was putting down about 450 hp at the wheels running about 10 psi.
Since I work for Ford I was able to get in there and make a run. I ran a 12.2 sec 119 mph 1/4 mile run. Reaction time was 0.30 sec. The fastest run that anyone made was a 11.8 sec 122 mph with a reaction time of 0.03 sec.
It was pretty awesome to run an actual vehicle on that machine with a big crowd stanging around. It was sooooo loud also.

That sounds like fun! Bet it's easier to go 119mph without wind resistance, too. hehe

119 should be about right in a manual.

A local guy is building a Dyno shop. Actually should be done by now. He is set up to do the same thing. He can simulate a 1/4 run while you are hooked up to the dyno. So you can tune the car, then "run" a 1/4 to test it out.

Can you ship that baby up here. My track doesn't open for another 47 days and I'm getting restless.

tell me about it
That reminds me I need to get my 4.10s in quick.
oh yeah, was the car a manual or auto?

Maybe I'm way off base here, but 119mph seems high for a 12.2 run. Seems to me you would need to be in the mid to high 11s to hit 119mph. I would expect 112-ish for a 12.2 run.

It was a huge adrenalin rush. I've never had my car on the track. But I was bangin through those gears and there was a huge crowd standing around. I knew the guy from Ford Racing and they had a no show for one of the appointments so he got me in. They were only running it once every 1/2 hour.
Pretty cool to know that our GT's can down near the 11's with some mods.

What kind of 60' did that machine factor in and I honestly don't know how accurate it is???

It is not acurate at all.Its just a publicity thing.
1.Perfect traction
2.No wind resistance
3.Weight of vehicle has no affect
4.1/4 mile is measured buy distance barral rolls.
You can get real time HP and performance numbers.
