I took my BMR LCAs off two weeks ago and greased them. Now I'm starting to feel/hear a clang comming from the rear end every so often when I make a turn or go over a bump. Great. The LCAs are not hanging or anything, I checked for that.

Actually it started up the other day when it was real cold and I released the parking brake. It stayed stuck when I started driving, then a huge clang and it released. I noticed the last time I took my wheels off that the soft rubber boot over the e-brake cable was torn on both sides. It's been clanging ever since the other day.

Hopefully I can take a look at it this weekend.

It was 2 - 3 weeks ago. It doesn't happen when you turn, it's more of a sharp turn. Like if you swerve side to side violently. Doesn't always happen either.

Maybe I should take all the junk out of my trunk. It's probably a hammer banging around.

It's still happening. My BMR LCAs are comming out until I figure this out. If I bring it in to the dealer I don't want them blaming it on my LCAs. I think my ebrake cables are screwed up. Are the ebrake cables supposed to run over the top or under the LCAs? I have mine over the top because I didn't like how they were dangling.

When I installed my LCAs for the first time and disconnected my ebrake, I noticed this:

[attachmentid=45203]

The boot was ripped and chewed on both ebrake cables. When I let them hang while I was installing the LCAs, there was a clear liquid comming out of them. I don't know if it was water or lubricant. I got a bad feeling that they are freezing or whatever since they're exposed to the cold.

George when you install gears, do they disconnect the ebrake cable to pull the axles out?

How recently did the dealer work on your gears.

Dustin,
What was done to the gears? Did I miss something?

My ring and pinon made loud whine from 65-75 mph in 5th. They replaced it per TSB at Drum Hill Ford. Now it whines from 75-85. I can't go back and female dog about it because they won't fix it if it whines when I'm speeding. I'm going to put in 4.10s anyway.

I was told by the family who owned 5.0 Pro Shop that Durabuild Transmission down by the library does good work on installing gears. I'm getting it done real soon. Gonna call them tomorrow.
