All,
Well, this is how it went down. I went to the MCA Nationals West Coast Car Show in Lacey, Washington. First thing I see when I park in the '05 section is the big SVT semi parked with a Ford GT right in front of it. Needless to say, after we did our show prep, I scooted straight over to ask all those burning questions.
So, first question out of my mouth was what was the latest I've heard about the rumored FRPP Supercharger. It is in the works, he says, they're nailing down who the supplier will be. Now, for the warranty freaks like me, I asked about that, too. According to him, if installed at a Ford service shop, it will not void the factory warranty!
I also asked about the new Shelby Cobra, and if there were any other special editions in the works. According to him, they are contemplating a "Boss" edition with the 4V 5.4L from Ford Australia, which should produce about 385 naturally aspirated horsepower!
I told him if he needed a test mule to look me up!
And jsut for fun, I thought I'd ask if I could take a picture of my Mustang with the GT. To my surprise, he said yes!
He even moved the display carts out of the way so I could get right in beside it. Wattaguy! So, for your viewing pleasure...

Why the Aussies have been getting it for years and we can't have it is beyond me.

Not saying who's right or wrong, but this is exactly what he told me.

I thought I heard FRPP was in bed with Whipple as far as the S/C goes. That's supposedly why Whipple hasn't rolled anything out yet. I've also heard that they both were disputing something...maybe a falling out before they really got going?

I too had heard through the grapevine that Whipple was having some problems with ford and vise versa..Wonder how this will end up turning out?

Isn't the Whipple out at RPM now? I am planning on throwing one of these bad boys in once my car comes in...

Is the Aussie V8 Aluminum? If not I may be inclined to stick with the 4.6 and save the extra 100lbs

I would have to agree with you. I would like to know if the 5.4 is aluminum as well. Also, would this motor have forged internals like the 03-04 4.6 cobra motor, if so then it might be worth it.
