Alex: Thanks for the pics...

I wonder why the back part is also open, since the air is coming in from the side? I wish it was totally enclosed, except for the side...
I expect that it is to allow air to flow through. A closed box would create a vacuum that would result in heated stagnant air being fed to the intake. IMHO with just a smidgeon of science!

My JLT CAI includes a "heat shield" which is really just a plastic plate that I'm not sure does a darn thing. I mean how can something like that prevent hot air from getting in - lol.

Does anyone know anything about the CAI Ford Racing will release in December. Model # M9600-S197 I saw it advertised on Sean Hyland's web site.

What performance gains? Need a tune with it? Void Warranty?

Thanks,

Neil

to be honest, personally i think it's the steeda CAI just rebranded.

i dunno....

That's correct, it looks like the Steeda one "now". But initially they had this one advertised on the FRPP site which is the same as the S&B. Heard that S&B and Ford had a falling out or something and didn't go through with the deal.

It's definately confusing to say the least! That's just the way dealing with Motorsports is, CONFUSING!

But, just to clarify something for the folks watching. Anything coming through Ford Racing is a re-badged "something". Ford Racing doesn't "make" anything.
