I"ve tried it....not that particular kit, but still...could never get it to work...looks too cheap to work....I payed about 100 bucks for my kit, and it still wouldn't work....these kits work "in theory" but not in reality. I think there is much more invloved than spark plugs and coils....PLUS...spark plugs will foul out so fast...you'l be replacing them after every burn if you DO get it to work....$00.02

You gotta be careful you don't ruin the paint around your exhaust tips. I have seen flames linger after you get off the gas which would place the flame right in your rear bumper.
Also, I have seen fancy kits that have ignition cutouts for your engine to help dump fuel into the exhaust for the effect. While this is a cool looking mod I am scared that it is not very healthy for your engine to be doing this kind of thing.

yes, that would be my concern.... making it go rich to fuel the flames? I wouldnt mess with my AF ratio just to get flames. Its not worth it on these cars. And I wouldnt trust their "controller". Maybe somebody makes a self contained flamer? like with its own fuel? probably not.....

ive installed one of these on a customers 71 c10 pickup. Worked quite well, but thats on a carb 350 with no cats on it. It basically cut the ignition so raw fuel was dumped and then used the plugs to ignite it.
There is another kit out there that actually uses fuel injectors, spark plugs and what not, ive seen them on cars at car shows, and they shoot upwards of 30ft.
and its not ur engine i would worry bout, its your cats i would worry bout, all that raw fuel is bad for them

Well...I have been thinking of inventing my own kit to get on to Max X....Instead of spark pugs...use the same ignition setup as a Gas grill...minus the propane....this should eliminate the need to keep replacing spark plugs.

for those to work without really messing up your car you need to be running no cats, maybe thats the problem some of you have been having that have tried this, all it does take is what the kit looks like it provides, spark plugs, and some wiring and a switch to turn it on and off, but the gas needs to be able to flow freely to the tips without cats being in the way, Ive seen this on several cars, some even jerryrigged in someones garage and they always work great
