Fiberglass hoods w/hood struts
if u get a good hood, like cervinis, ur fine, i have had mine on my cervinis hood for like a year. cervinis uses them also. if u get some cheepo hood like a steeda one, that u cant go over 75mph, then i wouldnt do it.
Polk City will be here before you know it - that show was a blast last year - and the pic with the P-51 is enough to make it worth it to show right there!!
BURKE-That pic is awesome
Can't wait
There are only two different aftermarket hoods that are aluminum that I know of... the CDC hood designed by Foose and the Saleen hood.
I got that Saleen hood and highly recommend it
Except for the cost YIKES!

well all of their hoods say "pins required if exceeding 75 mph" and cervinis dont, and they are both fiberglass. i guess you could call them show hoods then, not for the street, since they arent designed well enough to go above 75.
With the design of the new Mustangs and the way they move air into the engine bay, I guarantee the same issue with Steeda, RK Sport and whoever hood, is an issue with Cervini.....
I mean on a great deal of STOCK cars the stock hood shakes.

I have the RK Sport on this mustang , but I had a Steeda hood on my last one. Steeda actually puts a single steel plate in their hoods that extends well past the latch bolt holes on either side. My RK Sport hood only has a seperate small steel plate around each hole , so the Steeda hood has a lot more surface area to resist the force of the hood trying to pull up. Also Burke001 was correct , with the design of these cars they get so much air in under the hood , the stock aluminum hoods were flying off on the race circuit. You'll see pictures of some cars on the racing circuit with 4 pins instead of just 2 ...

Just installed the "Cheap" Steeda hood with the MRT hood struts. No problems.
Other than I had to grind down the lower brackets to allow the hood to close. Some reason the lower brackets were hitting the upper bracket bolt when near to closed position.
I cant see how they would push up on the hood when closed considering they are running parallel to the hood when closed, and what prssure is there is along a long bracket.
