Man, just put the 4.30 gear in today....it feels good, but not as impressive as taking an 87-93 body and putting 3.73's/4.10's, but definately woke up the torqueless 05. I've got cut stock springs and punch in first gear this thing grips and goes. I got a buddy of mine to drive me in it tonight since it always feels better in the passengers seat...and I must say. It will throw you back and pulls to redline w/ the Diablo tuner. Will take my first trip on the interstate tomorrow and let you know how many rpms the motor turns w/ the 4.30's if anyone is interested, probably about another 800 if I had to guess, the car doesn't rev rediculously quick through the gears as I imagined.
Going to the track Friday and will post the time's afterwards.
-So far best times at the track are 13.50 at 105mph, 2.20 60 ft.

Quick question...Your sig says you removed your H-trap. How does that work with the Predator tune? OK? I am running the 91 Octane Performance tune.

Thank you! Finally someone has installed 4.30's! :worship:

Definitely interested in revs on the highway. I am strongly leaning towards 4.30's (if my car ever arrives...), but want more real world reviews. It seems like the gear of choice for the magazines, but I want to make sure it isn't too much for a daily driver.

Definitely keep us posted.

I've been thinking about going with 4:30's,but was'nt sure if that steep of a gear would effect the the low end tq and powerband sence you'll be hitting the redline quicker.

Crossing my fingers,I realy hope it works.
I'll be watching for your results
Good Luck rooting for ya

ran the car at the track w/ the 4.30's 13.30 at 104 mph
-80mph =2900 rpm
-75mph = 2750 rpm
-70mph = 2500 rmp
-it's not that big of a difference in rmps, still gets 23 mpg on the interstate too.

you ran a 13.50 with a 2.2 60foot, thats weird cause I ran simular times but I had you by 3/10's on the 60 foot so your car must be able to do 13.2 stock if you can get your 60 foots down to 1.9ish

I am going to assume the car is an automatic. Is that correct? I put 4:10 in my auto. At 80 mph I can see the gas gage slide down hill. No way will it get 23 MPG. This is to be my fun car only but the gas prices may take a lot of the fun out of it. May have to stop blowing off those ricers that ware their caps backwards. Some of the real fun is acting like you are going to race at the light then do not. I let them with their fart cans just go on down the road.

5spd manual
1.9 60 ft on the 13.30, my car just doesn't seem to be pulling on the top end, even before the gear...I'm sure a tune will cure the problem, probably has something to do w/ the off-road exhaust

You need an intake. Check out C&L's website for the gains they experienced up top. IIRC it was something like 30 rwhp from 5K on.

Take that cow catcher off and you could probably do 13.25

Might have something to do with holowing out the cats.when there holowed now you have this big open area in the pipe that then returns small again.remember your 2-stroke dirtbike? same idea in the exhaust, but you have a four stroke. :nono:

Looks like your 1/8 mile was better ,but you definately lost it up on top.make sure you were not detonating wich will turn timing back and make car not pull in the big end.
