On The fence about Brenspeeds V3 kit.

With the new motor coming out for the 2011 Mustang I feel I need a horsepower increase. I'm seriously leaning towards Brenspeeds V3 base kit for 3800.00 bucks. Seems to be a good deal for the amount of power you get with it. I'm not looking to spend alot of money on a blower so this kit is perfect for me. Not to mentions its tax season and I got a nice refund

Anyone else have the V3 kit from them? Thoughts?

i believe that kit does not come equipped with an intercooler. intercooler/aftercooler FTW. if you dont have an aggressive rear gear ratio i would go with one like a 4.10 or 4.30 to get you into the powerband quicker being you will be building boost as rpms increase with the centri supercharger. most importantly whatever you do get make sure it is cooled, not a fan of cheaper non cooled kits. just my 2 cents.

i have the V3 HO kit (the 10 PSI with the aftercooler) and it's a great budget friendly blower, but brenspeed suggested having 3.55/3.73/4.10 to get the blower into it's best power range to really get the best of it. I like mine, i say go for it. It's a lovely kick in the pants.

what do you mean best power range? the quicker you get those rpms up with a centri blower the quicker you start developing more boost. you would get to your desired boost levels quicker with a 4.10 gear versus a 3.55 or 3.73 in my opinion. thats why i had said 4.10's or 4.30's REALLY take advantage of that centri blower. plus an overdrive pulley would work great.

i probably shoulda said rpm range instead of power range, but what you said is axactly what i meant. if he has the stock 3.31's, gonna need a upgrade or he probably wont be satisfied with the V3. the higher the better, but 3.55's would be decent, 3.73/4.10 would be better ofc. i have 4.10's in mine and it jumps into the boost fast. dunno if he would wanna do 4.30's if he his stang is a daily driver though.

I have the Vortech V2 non-intercooled blower on my '07 GT Automatic Coupe. I went with 4.10's and a stall converter to get it into its powerband instantly. With an X-pipe and drag radials as my only other mods, I'm running 12.10's @ 113 in the 1/4 mile. 0-60 mph comes in just 3.7 seconds (versus 5.1 stock) and 0-100 mph comes in just 9.9 seconds (versus 13.9 stock), so these V2's/V3's just plain rock for the very small investment (I paid $3700 for my V2).

I was just about to pull the trigger on this myself had I not found a good deal on a 'gently' used Saleen.

I think its a good deal. You can always add the intercooler.

Do it! That's how I started, base kit then added a 'cooler later.
