Fail safe vs limp home vs ?????

I was doing some searching on the boards and I've learned the car has a fail safe mode which prevents gas from entering the cylinders, essentially stalling the engine, a limp home mode which shuts off 4 cylinders so you can still drive the car and based on some experience with my particular car, I've gotten something completely different. I was curious if the symptoms, if you will, of what I have experienced was simply one of these modes. If I read correctly, the HUD will display fail safe mode when it goes into that mode. Didn't see anything like that for limp home mode. And my symptoms are on the HUD (hasn't happened in awhile... knock on wood):
DTC fuel filler error
Park brake on (when it's clearly off)
Oil pressure low (gauge reads zero)
Fuel low (gauge reads zero and is red even though there is gas in the tank)
TCS off (center console light and dashboard light)
Passenger airbag off (center console light)
All kinds of warning lights (check engine, TCS, etc)
None of my electronics work on the dashboard (speedo and tach still function but no blinkers, headlight indications even if they are being used)
My AC no longer works as well

I can remedy this by simply disconnecting the battery for a few seconds and everything goes back to normal. It seems I am the only one with this particular problem but I want to see if that's just my ignorance as to those two particular safety modes.

My dealer when I asked them about this problem, said it was my sequentials. I don't believe that to be the case as it did it with and without them installed.

Something is definitely wrong with your car, find another dealer that won't blame your mods as the cause and actually spend the time to diagnose the problem. You may want to put your stock intake and tune back in though, it will make things easier for them. Check for water in the passenger side footwell, could be a water problem getting at the smart junction box.

My first guess was water hitting the SJB as well. Sounds like an electrical problem, and the SJB is the mother of all electronics in this car.

Which is why it isn't protected like fort nox.

Ditto on the electrical. Also ditto on taking it somewhere else.

I forgot about that, some Ipod adapters have been found to be the cause of some strange electrical issues. I think the only one that actually works without problems is from Brandmotion.

I had the Peripheral one (sold at Best Buy) and had this problem all the time until I yanked it out. Has not done it since.

Gotta love these forums, you and or your dealer would have gone nuts trying to figure that out!

You should ask your dealer how your ipod connector is related to your sequentials. :P
