My check engine light is on, and the fail safe mode keeps coming on and I lost most of my power.Does anyone have any information on that or what I can have my local service department do for me?

Thank You

Mine went into failsafe mode one morning right after I first got it before any mods, It was something to do with the throttle body wiring harness. The dealer had a TSB on it.

Matthew your Fail-safe mode is happening for a reason. Is your vehicle stock? Have you made any mods?

Technical Service Bulletin. It is a list of known issues distributed by Ford to their dealers when they become aware of common malfunctions on cars.

This specific TSB was immediately identified as soon as the dealer ran a computer diagnostic check.

Any repairs associated with TSB's would be covered under warranties.

I find it very funny that he doesn't want to ask the question. I would assume then that he has made some mods.

sorry for not answering about the mods, it was just deverting from my original question,I just wanted a link to where this was discussed before. Because of my mods the dealership wont touch my car, I have an off road x pipe with no cats, so i just wanted some info to tell them, so maybe they wouldnt blame my x pipe, which i dont think is the problem. But your guess is as good as mine.

Well if you're running those pipes and no cats without a tune for them you certainly would get a CEL.

heck, my dealership is replacing my TPS tomorrow according to the TSB even though:

1) I have a Zex kit completely installed, including the wire tapped into the TPS wire!

2) Why do you have a helmet in the back seat?

3) Hmmmm... why do you have big white numbers on you windows?

LOL!

From what I gather, the changes to the pipes, and the lack of the sensor is putting the CEL light on because the computer believes there is a problem because it is not receiving a signal from the sensors.

When is your Fail safe mode occuring? WOT or partial throttle, if it is partial throttle it is most likely due to the TPS system, the computer combats a possible throttle sticking open by doing the fail safe thing to keep you from getting killed. A TSB could help eliminate this, my issue was with a Zex wire tap into the TPS wire and when manipulated frequently will cause the FSM, when left alone it works fine.
