Exhausts Options and California
I just saw the Ford Racing site and from what I've read the Ford Racing GT muffler option is just a Borla with the ford tips. I thought to myself "those are just what I'm looking for." Then I read the small print, "legal in 49 states, except California."
Sometimes California really pisses me off with all the politically correct ^%$#!@@ laws.
From getting information here and other sources I was decided on the Borlas but I guess I'm a criminal if I install them on my future Mustang.
So, with my ranting done.....what mufflers are legal in California that sound good, add some punch, and will pass emissions? I'm military (will be stationed in CA, not a resident) so I'm not even sure when I have to have emissions done on a new car.
I'm currently in Korea but want to replace the stock exhaust when I return home in November and pick up my new Mustang.
I appreciate the assistance.
Any suggestions????

Just in case you don't know, new cars in California do not need to be inspected for 6 years. So, if you buy the car in CA, it won't need to be inspected until 2011 (or 2012 if it is an '06 model). http://www.smogcheck.ca.gov/StdPage.asp?Bo...eck/doineed.htm

get what ever you want the very worst case is that you get a fix it ticket ( i have had loud cars for over 10 years in Los Angeles), if you get a fix it ticket put your stock exhaust back on pay the $15 fine and put your stuff back on, i have never in 10 years heard of any of my friends who all have fast loud cars getting in trouble for it.
The not legal in CA is all because they don't want to pay the high costs in getting a C.A.R.B. appoval, no biggie in my book especially taking into acount you wont be smogging it for 6 years
