Thumbs up

Magnaflow Performance Part No. #35164
Size: 4 inch
lenghth: 8.25 Inches
Inlet di.: 2.5 inch

Muffler place told me they would look great, and that they were the right size to fit the bumper real nice......will be welded on.............monday?!?!

Anyone know if this is the right size, and/or how it would look. Thanks

They look rather big.

Why not get the chrome plated stainless steel tips out of the 2005 Mustang Accessories brochure from your Ford Dealer? Mine are 3 inches in diameter from the outlet side.

Part # 5R3Z*5K238*BA. I paid $81.80 plus tax for the pair from my dealer. They clamp / bolt down, no welding necessary. And the fit, perfectly of course, over the muffler exhaust and in the valence cutouts.

They may be cheaper from Kevin / 05stangKC. Call him 1/800-570-5554 Mon - Fri 8-4 PST.

The stock tips are 3" diameter are protrude 7-10" from the muffler body; 7" at the bottom of the slash cut and 10" at the top of the slash cut. The stock tips narrow to what looks like 2-1/2" where they weld onto the muffler. If the overall length of those tips is really only 8-1/2" then a short 2-1/2" extension might be in order.

As for the 4" diameter, that's what the majority of the aftermaket cat/axleback mufflers (Bassani, Magnaflow, Borla) have for tips and they fit fine/look great (IMO).

Here's a pic of my 4" MagnaFlow tips. They are beveled and rolled and were cut down to 9.5", from I think it was 16" to start from. My muffler guy only charged $40 to cut and install, and the tips were about $68 delivered.

thise look great bluecar........I like the 4 inch better then Ford 3 inch. They seem to fill the space in the bumper better.

When you got those were the "clean" on the inside.........Just wondering!!

Mine were clean from Ford, but they are the 3 inch, not the 4 inch.

Don't accept dirty parts; that was ridiculous of them to try to pawn them on you.

hmmmmm......you might be getting used ones - have they been installed yet? If so and the install looks good - I'd just clean 'em up myself - if they haven't been installed yet - have the shop give you new ones and order them if they have to - or make you a deal on the used ones!!

Hey guys....

With the Magnaflow catbacks, sometimes there will be some grease left over from the mandrel benders...it is white in color

With universal tips though, there will NEVER be any grease...and definitely not black grease!

Thanks

Since these are weld on tips I wouldn't think that they would have been used if there were no weld marks on them. And after all, do you really care what the inside of your tip looks like as long as the exterior is mint? I know I haven't looked inside mine lately. It's just the idea of them being used, and passed off as new.:nono:

When you get them installed you may want to show the muffler guy EXACTLY how far you want tip to come out the back of the bumper because he is going to have a job to get them on just right after cutting the old tips off. Good Luck!
