Last week I started noticing a rattling sound coming from my SLP Loudmouths, I just figured one of the hangers was loose or something. So today I get under the car to check it out and found out one of the welds holding the hanger on the tips had broken off. Now there is a big hole on the side of my tip. Has anyone else had this problem? I'm waiting to here back from SLP.

Wes- Sorry that happened man.

If that weld was defective, well that was the reason.

If it was a good weld, my guess is that there was too much preload in the pipes which caused that weld to fail.

Did you (or whomever) loosen the mid-pipe clamps when installing the axle-backs?

I found that there was quite a bit of preload in my FRPP/Borla pipes and by loosening the mid-pipe clamps, it relieved all the preload.

Hope you get it taken care of soon, it would bug the heck out of me too.

When my buddy and I installed them we didn't touch the midpipe. I wasn't aware this could cause a problem.

Then, you may want to explore this after you get your replacement set.

Also, use the mid-pipe clamp to adjust centering your tips in the bumper cut-outs.

welded is good but remember its a more permanent solution to the problem. it makes it much harder to go back or change down the road. although it can be broken and changed its a pita compared to bolting and unbolting the stuff.

My SLP's are starting to rust around the inside lip.
Car has NEVER seen the rain or been out in the wet, and only has 2850 miles on it.
Tips are cleaned inside & out and even waxed.

I had Corsa exhaust before the SLP's and while I like the SLP's. the Corsa's quality was 200% better.

I have not contacted SLP yet as it is not THAT bad yet.
