Engine bay scorching hot!

Today when I opened my hood to do an oil change, my car was on fire. The heat from the engine was unbelievable, even the plastic parts of the engine were hot. The hoodlatch was burning up. This got me thinking about how to get this heat of of the engine with a new hood. Anyone running with a heat extractor or ram air hood? Impressions? Does the shaker hood help with this?

Shaker here, and my engine still gets HOT under there. I have a polished radiator cover that you could fry an egg on.

I have thought of purchasing the heat extraction hood. Problem is with the paint and prep the price my well go to 1500. Think about how hot it must be with a turbo

I have a 2000 GT with a Cobra "R" hood and my painter opened the "gills" so it extracts heat. It does a very good job of getting rid of the heat under my hood, sitting at traffic lights during the summer you can see the hot air coming out of the hood vents!!

The engine creates heat, and depending on where you live, and the weather in your area. It was 96 here today and I drove my 2006 GT and even with the ram air hood, it still gets warm.
