Eliminating Cats Question?

Is anyone running a Pypes off road H-pipe and GTA mufflers?

Looks uncomplicated and very easy to switch back for smog. The price is right too.

Hey Rich,
While I can't speak for the Pypes system I can tell you that it would only take 1 hr. to change my offroad Mac Prochamber back to stock ( with cats) if I had to. You spent more time painting those awesome looking taillites.

Rich- switching to an offroad H will be like driving a different car- the audible difference is that dramatic. Good luck!

Go for it. Like the poster above said it will only take you an hour to do the swap when you have to go in for smog. I'm in Cali and that's what I'm doing.

Yeah, that will work. I put my stock H-pipe back on this weekend. It's not that bing of a deal to swap them, it's lining the tips back up that is a pain. Since I am only going to run the stock H this week, while I get my car inspected, I decided not to obsess over it and just got them close.

I don't know how the O/R H will sound with the GTA mufflers, but I bet they will sound great.

That would sound really sweet man. Free up a few ponies as well! Are we on for this upcoming weekend for the K-member brace install?

are mil eliminators/computer reflash via hand tuner really needed or will the car run just fine without them?

The car will run just fine without either but you will have the CEL (check engine light) on because the rear O2 sensors will be thinking there is something wrong.

just add mil connectors and you won't get any dash lights. However, Be Forwarned,Fines are very Extensive should you get caught altering Any EmissionControls. Not likely to happen, but always a possibility. In TX DPS will do random inspections!

I know I'm bias but this exhaust setup really is the best of both worlds for me. The wife and I took a 120 mile round trip to a lake yesterday with the top down. At cruising speeds it has a nice musclecar sound with no drone. But push pedal and she really wakes up. It is loud and aggressive when I chose it to be. And best of all my head is not buzzing after a long trip.

Oh c'mon Rich, you started this thread 4 days ago- get the darn pipe ordered already before you change your mind again.

I can say having heard Scott's car first hand (although, oddly enough never heard it from behind ) that it does sound really good with a deep muscular sound.
