Dyno of Turbohorsepower single turbo kit
'grats! Paul told me about it and its impressive to say the least!
The choice is clear....Turbo is the ONLY way to go...far more efficient and makes more power than a S/C. If this car had a S/C instead of the Turbocharger it would not have made as much power even at a higher boost level. At idle the car sounds stock with exhaust...nothing more.
He's talking about my turbo car. Driving next to it you would never suspect it had a turbo in it. It makes zero noise until you get on it.
honestly... one of my buddies has a KB twin screw and you cant hear it either until he gets into it ...so thats not a one sided affair. Both supercharger and turbo have their pros and cons. its an endless debate hehe To tell you the truth...anything other than a loud centri blower... I cant hear till they go WOT...

It's really not much of a debate anymore....the fact is that a Turbo makes more power more efficiently than a supercharger..period. Fact also is that any supcharger on Jake's car in place of that turbocharger would not make the same numbers...simply because it costs power to make power with a supercharger due to the fact that it is belt driven while the turbocharger is run off the exhaust...hence the reason it is more efficient. I build both supercharged and turbocharged cars in my shop and I have owned many of both but still own turbocharged Mustangs...they are more driveable at higher power levels than a supercharged car.....I've owned and put lots of miles on both. You can argue both all day long but when armed with facts in the end the turbocharger will come out on top.
Many people are afraid of turbos mostly due to 80's cars that had problems and lack of understanding of turbochargers....but turbochargers are really not black magic and work very well when properly set up.
Sure "SOME" superchargers are quiet but most create some noise at idle....some turbochargers can be heard at idle through the exhaust but not all of them. Jake's car is very unassuming because it appears to be a stock lowered GT with wheels....a perfect sleeper since most everyone would never guess it made over 500HP.
