Maximum velocity is not something many people are trying to achieve.

Is that what you really want?

I'm new to the "mods" world, but was considering changing my stock exhaust when I get my GT. I thought that actually gained you a few HP, but I'm reading in this thread that it costs a couple. Can someone please explain this to me? Thanks in advance!

Most exhaust mods will add HP.

I've read a few post that the current Flowmaster systems will hurt you a little.

Most companies like Magnaflow, Steeda, Bassani, JBA, Borla will add HP and sound.

No, and probably will not. I have no interest in ever running a top speed race.

Yeah, if you are an SCT dealer/tuner. However, this is not available to the consumer.

Exhaust changes on the pre-'05 cars gained HP/TQ because of the restrictions built into them from the facotry. However, the '05 exhaust is a different animal. You will not see much gain at all from a cat-back/axl-back system. The factory exhaust is 2 1/2 inch, manderel bent tubing. I can't see paying $400+ dollars for 2-5 hp or to just change the sound.
