Dumb question of the day?

Do you always use the stock air filter and box when adding a super charger?

From what I can see, only if you plan on getting a Roush Charger. Those use the factory airbox.

Look at pics of PSH in its thread, it uses a open element servicable filter, without a box or heat shield around it. It is a Vortec system.

No question is dumb, only the question not asked.

The Saleen S/C can also use the stock box, but most guys interested in getting some decent power out of them will ditch it ASAP, and go with a better intake system.

Also FWIW, the Kenne Bell is the only supercharger to relocate the air intake completely outside of the hot engine compartment.

Thanks.
I am seriuosly thinking of the Saleen or Roush system.
I Don't wan't to go over board w/ the boost and I like that they stay within the Ford warranty.

Don_W you need to put that quote below your name, you say it everytime something is brought up about S/C's , T/C's , and CAI's.

Well one thing is for sure... if you get the basic Saleen or Roush, you definitely won't be going overboard with boost. Not so sure about that Ford warranty though.

It seems repeating the same stuff over and over and over is the way things are done here these days. I'm just doing my part to keep things redundant.

the saleen kills your warranty. the roush kills your warranty. however roush picks up the remainder of your drivetrain/transmission/engine/rear warranty. only catch is the car must have it installed by a certified roush installer. go with the KB best bang for the buck
