Driveshaft Questions....
Driveshaft Questions....
As I am slowly waiting for my economic stimulus check, I planned on doing a custom tune from Tillman Speed on my whipple s/c, but also throwing around the idea of a 1 piece driveshaft. After seeing great reviews on these boards and having long emails with a driveshaft company telling me I'm better off not getting one due to vibration issues because of the year mustang, I dunno what to believe.
I've seen a lot of great reviews on the spydershaft, but I've also seen good reviews on the coast driveline d/s.
can anyone give me any input on the d/s issues, if there are any? First I hear, people have had horrible vibration issues, shifter hitting d/s or d/s safety loop issues, etc. Will I also have issues with passengers in my vehicle?
I'm lowered with the Steeda Sport Springs with BMR LCAs (non adjustable) and a BMR UCA (non adjustable). I also have a CHE Axle Brace and a Hurst Shifter
Should I expect any issues with my setup with either one of these D/S? Do I really need to invest in an adjustable UCA since I have a non adjustable one?
Any information you can give me would really clear my head on this issue.

Thats usually when you lower the car and have some people in the back. If your getting he tune form Tillmans you might as well get the D/S form the also. I have looked at the Coast D/S and would have went with that if I didn't already have one.

Fitment is a breeze. Guys with 08+ don't have to do ANYTHING. Ford made the tunnel larger, and relocated the emergency cable bracket for us. For 05-07 vehicles, all you have to do is relocate the emergency cable bracket at the rear of the driveshaft tunnel 1.5" away from the tunnel. 5 Minutes. If you WANT to, you can massage the rear hump on the tunnel about .25" to give you clearance for when you have 2 fat chicks in the back.
Through all of the problems and bullcrap with all of the competing brands out there, Coast has stayed competitive and NOT had issues. The small issues that have had were not neccessarily on the engineering, but per customer application, or competance on the part of UPS during the holidays.
I would put it on my own car. I stand by the Coast line of products. And they're great guys, and very knowledgable!
Thanks Drew! You're car is all over the new gallery for the website I'm posting in the next day or so...
