I set out a set of steel drive up ramps to put the car on last Saturday morning to change the oil and just started laughing. There was no way the car was going up on them without destroying the front facia. Are there some good ramps out there that will work with this car? A friend told me they now make them out of plastic and have a very long "ramp" to them for the newer cars. Any suggestions? Tks!

Try Rhino Ramps. You can get them at Wal Mart.

Thanx, my recent cars I've had someone take care of and my trucks had no problem with the steel ramps. Doing mods to the car, I like to know it first hand. (also, I admit, this is prolly the first car in a long time that I don't want someone else working on it).

Have to hand it to everyone - Rhino ramps it is! Just went to Walmart and bought a set myself. $22 for the 8000 lb. capacity or $32 for the 12,000 lb. capacity. I personally purchased the 8000 lb. set. I too had a high dollar pair of ramps made of steel but the approach angle was too steep and they hit the fascia. Rhino ramps work perfectly for this stock height vehicle.

PS: Might want to see if they will work with a lowered vehicle from someone who knows if your vehicle has been lowered.

I'm pretty sure they'll work even with a lowered vehicle. Vettes use them and they are pretty darn low in the front.

I have rino ramps too. They can be a PIA also. They kept sliding when I was trying to get up them on Friday. I put a 50 lb box of salt and a cinder block behind one and a spare tire behind the other. They both moved.

Usually only one ramp moved and I drove up the other. So I had to back down and try again. I had lots of trouble. I have done it before without trouble also. Now I have black stripes across my driveway from the rubber feet dragging.

Simple solution - have that annoying neighbor or kid next door stand in front of the ramps.

Hmm, I backed up my Rhino ramps when I installed my axle back exhaust. I didn't have any problems with them moving, but I spun my tires to get up them. Rear wheel drive on plastic... Bad combo for traction.

I actually ended up buying a "cheap" set of plastic ramps from Pep Boys. They have an extension or lip that preceedes the ramp and once the tires are on the lip, nothing moves. $19.95 took care of the problem.

Have you got any roofing shingles laying around? The three tab kind. Lay one shingle under each ramp, upside down, you know the gritty side on the concrete. set a ramp on top of each one. Works every time.

I need to get my hands on a set as well. I can't get my floor jack to fit under the car now that it has been lowered. I like the idea of the shingles on the bottom for traction as well
