the air travels throught is limited. if u look at grill and lower intake area it is mostly blocked off. add the front plate and its worst. i like to see a dyno run w/ and w/o cold air kit while the hood is closed. i doubt that there would be much of a gain in hp. i know travels under the hood but wouldnt a bigger intake area benefit the cars performance? :scratch:

From my (very limited 
)memory, it seems like Ford originally had the front grill opened up more and for some reason, before the car was actually introduced, they blocked off some of the area. I don't remember where I read about this, but I know it was somewhere on this forum. Without knowing why they blocked it off, I could only guess it might have something to do with pressure build up under the hood, given the problems some have had with the hood dance. Maybe someone with a better memory knows the answer.

I actually adjusted the hood stops above the radiator shroud and at 140 (speedo) I didn't have a problem with the hood dance. The last time I actually had a problem though was coming down the coast at high speed with a considerable wind (45 mph+). I can only hope to get some time to take the car out on the "open" highway again before (the car, and me) becomes a collector's item..
