I know the generation of mustangs before us has knock sensors and the SCT2 has been picking it up when data logging. Despite this everytime I try to data log my knock sensors, it says that it wont pick them up. whats the deal?? Not only that but my car is pinging with my tune. should the knock sensors not pick this up and retard the timing? :bang:

As far as I know, the last-gen had no knock sensors. But, I have heard nothing about the new ones, yet.

Yes, we have knock sensors, and yes it should be stopping you from pinging.

Contact your tuner. In the meantime retard your timing until it's not pinging.

I'm sorry, the GT 2V's- I'm pretty sure that all the 4V's had knock sensors.

Yes, the new stang's have a knock sensor but unlike the early style mustangs you can't datalog it. What you have to do is monitor the spark advance table and then using the graph look at it and where you see it drop is where it is retarding timing. I've sent you a PM about your tuning and what I've found that fixes it. Just shoot me an email if I can help.

Thanks, Doug

Just for clarification.... the 2V cast iron 4.6 has a single knock sensor in the center of the valley. The Aluminum 4.6 (2005) 3V engine has two. One on each side of the valley.
