I have a coupon for a free oil change and was going to go to the dealer today. Should I set my tune back to stock (along with airbox) or will they not even tap into the computer? All this voiding warranty talk has me a little nervous.

My dealer doesn't care, however, if there is a control module update, they will override your settings with the "new" stock. Then, if like me you have an x-cal2, you won't have a stock match and that could goof you up. All that said, I have been back to the dealer a few times (I have almost 15k miles) and I have never flashed back to stock before I went.

I did not either for my free oil change. I am told the Xcal leaves a footprint so to speak in the computer so they can tell anyway. One of the risks we take.

I like to return mine to stock. Not so much because I don't want the dealer to know of my mods (I bought Trixie & my CAI from the same dealer) but because I want to have my bases covered in the event the dealer takes the opportunity to install a revised stock tune.

I wouldn't bother flashing back to stock. It's likely that a tech will never touch your car when you're in for an oil change. That's usually handled by guys that know just enough to get the old oil out and the new oil in.

If you were in for an actual service than I would probably flash to stock.
