Disconnect front sway bar?

I've read a number of opinions around disconnecting the front sway bar to enhance weight transfer to the rear tires. I'm going to the track again in a couple of weeks and still don't have any drag radials. My first trip on the 18" rims and tires was a disaster, major wheelspin through 1st and 2nd (dumped the clutch while mashing the gas, tires just lit up and I moved nowhere 4 times in a row), 2.2 60ft. times and a near record shattering best of 14.1 at 103 Mph.

My new plan this time:

1. Turn off T/C.
2. Drop rear tire pressure to 25 psi.
3. Let the clutch out slower rather than "dumping" it.
4. ???

I was thinking of disconnecting the front sway bar as I have read to hopefully enhance the weight transfer, but I really don't know if that helps or not. Should I completely remove it? Is it ok to just leave it disconnected or will I fail tech?

Keep in mind I still won't be running drag radials. In all honesty, if I can't get to 13.6 with my mods, then I'll probably never race again. The first time was depressing.

i completely removed by bar and replaced it with the BMR radiator support.

I personally haven't drag raced in an 05+ mustang yet, mine is still on its way. I would recommend dropping your tire pressure a bit and maybe launching at a lower rpm. What are you launching at anyways? I was looking at the BMR sway bar delete as well, but I read an article somewhere and they didn't notice an increase in strut extension. The only true gain from it was weight reduction, which wont really help you if you're not hooking up. If you're getting wheel spin, let off the gas a little. No point in mashing the pedal if you're not going anywhere. Also just curious if you are doing a burnout on street tires?

no difference in strut extension? i dunno. Someone could take a ride in my car and give a 2nd opinion if they wanted. but when i hit the gas hard, it bucks instantly up in the front, never did that with the stock setup in there.

Downside would be cornering is limited because that bar is gone

Sean, you need to NOT pay attention to other times you see posted from people not racing here. You are racing in Phoenix, AZ. Seeing someone post a low 13 second time with a near stock Mustang somewhere else doesn't mean anything to you.

From what I've seen at Firebird and Speedworld you're not doing bad compared to other 05+ Mustangs. You WILL NOT get to a 13.6 with just a tune here, and forget the gears, they don't do anything for your time.

Every bone stock 05+ I've seen are in the mid 14's. On a great day low 14's. Is there something missing from your sig?

No nothing missing in my sig, but you are hitting it on the head, I'm comparing it to other bone stock or slightly modded Mustangs running mid 13's or so. After putting in 4:10's I was hoping to pick up "something", and my tune is pretty lame. I don't have a CAI and it's a 87 octane Diablo tune, so I doubt I'll get much out of that.

As far as launching, I've launched anywhere from 3,500 RPM all the way down to off idle, and it's the same thing, major wheelspin through first and most of 2nd. Of course, I may have an itchy trigger finger, errr, foot. I'm just dumping the clutch and putting my right foot to the floor.

I had my quickest time going last time and missed the 4th gear shift (yeah, I know 4TH GEAR?!!!), so never cracked 14.1. 2.2 or higher 60 foot times with all that wheelspin and the fact that I reloaded my tune that day (hoping the computer was still learning and was in LAME WEAK mode). So I'm hoping to cut down the wheelspin, get a decent 60 foot time and make some significant improvements this time around.

Would you guys be able to make it out to Firebird on 10/13? PM me if you can make it, would be nice to see you guys again!
