Diablo or SCT?
I have hit both sites & have read many posts on each. Both products look sweet, but a couple of features stand out on the Diablo.
You can read fault codes & reset them.
You can collect data for 30 minutes.
I am looking for an 87 octane tune that I know SCT has, not sure you will get it with the Diablo unless it is a custom tune.

I hope more people get to see a direct comparison of both the SCT and Diablo tuners to see who has the best tune! It seems that the SCT has been used quite a bit by forum members so far but I have only heard of one Diablo tune?
Please let us all know once you have done either one of these with before and after Dyno numbers so we can all make a choice.

I've been hearing shortly on the Diablosport Predator since the first part of November. Couldn't wait any longer..also sounds like it might be 80-100 dollars more expensive too....I decided to go the SCT route as it was available and got great reviews from owners on here.....so far I have no complaints....best of luck with your decision.....
I sent diablosport an email and they said early first quarter on the 2005 stang.
I will probably wait until the diablo is out for several reasons:
1) People are having lots of problems with the SCT quicktune software tight now. I'm sure it will be cleared up, but they may have rushed a bit too much to be first.
2) The best tuner in my area uses diablo and I want to go to them. It is more important to me that the tuner be familiar with the product than any minor feature differences between the products.
3) I want to see some more numbers the mods and tunes before I lay my cash down.
4) I'm getting 4.10s in a week or two and that'll keep me entertained for a while.

Quite frankly, I really don't see any present or future programmers better than the XCalibrator. My rep that I bought mine from is sending me the SCT, software, and PC cable for $400. Now, he will send me an email with an attachment for any mod I make to the car----for free-----for life----. OR.....if I want, I can hook up my SCT to my PC and do it all my self... and not that it matters to mustang only owners, but the same tuner will work on tens of other cars...not like the bastard other tuners that attach themselves to the first car's VIN they connect to and isolate themselves.
There's more, but the website addresses all of these issues.....
the choice is simple....

Can you give some examples of advantages SCT has over diablo (other than it's available now)? I've been reading up on the diablo and it seems to have the same features as SCT but also has data logging.

I have read several reviews and posts in this forum regarding the SCT and have not seen any issues.
Mine should arrive this Friday (I hope) and will hopefully have my car on a Dyno saturday.

[/b][/quote]The problem is with the quicktune software not with the Xcalibrator. Here is one example. There are others if you check the rest of the SCT forum. Bryan (2005redgt) appears to have been trying to get the quicktune software to open his tune file for a week or two.
if the software locks up after the first car you hook it up to, you can always try having w/e the software is saved to right protected and that should stop it from locking in on a single vin#. Or you can just set a system restore point right before you use it and simply revert back to it when you're done. :geek: Messing with the registry files is another option..... but you need to know what you're doing
