An interesting note. My phone number is blocked. I called them and an "operator" came on and said

"The caller you are trying to reach does not wish to be contacted by blocked numbers."

I have never know a business to enable that feature.

 

That is because your number comes through as annonymous or unknown. Like you were dialing *67 ( or #67, or 67#, whatever is applicable to your telco ) prior to dialing the number. On some systems you can even permanently turn your CALID off on outbound calls.

Most phone companies in their callerID packages offer anonymous call blocking to the end user to cut down on the BS telemarketer calls. I have it turned on permanenty on my home phone.

 

Yeah we have that package for the reason of cutting down telemarketers. I just have not heard of a business using that feature. I only encounter it with a residential number I am calling.
