I haven't had any experience with DSS or any other engine builder concerning modular motors but if you want to spend that kind of money it could be completed by one of the top 3 builders in the country. I have heard nothing but bad things about DSS from the racers at NMRA events. Ask 169stang about Boss330 (Al), Al is building his long block and will be building my short block. I have also heard bad news about making a stroker with a modular motor, to the tune of if you want more displacement then go to a pushrod motor, it will be cheaper/more reliable/faster.

How about if I drive the car up there and you guys do a complete install job? Might be better than trusting someone else to do it. There are several shops in my area that are just not worth a poot and I no longer turn wrenches.

Got to love it. Buy a new car, trash the motor, and spend another 5 grand to replace a short block.

Speed Costs.....How fast do you want to go?To some it is crazy. But i purchased my 05 for some street, but mostly track.I did not want to buy some older car and have to replace everything in it and build a 20,000 dollar motor to run were i plan on getting to.Nothing like the satisfaction of being at the track, running the numbers I run and hearing all the people saying (Did you see that brand new 05?)
Also It is awesome to be in my garage working on my 05 and every nut and bolt is shinny with no rust.
Building a stronger shortblock is insurance to a much larger expense of blowing up the whole motor because something break,s in the lower end.
You could always buy a 60,000 ZO6 to run close to mine.
Or wait till you can buy a 75.000 07 Shellby.

I love it! I don't have a single regret for the crap I've done so far. There are a couple things I've probably wasted my money on, but hey...I'm not spending your money, so what would you care? I LOVE running down the track. I really enjoy working on the car as well. The only thing's I don't do are internal motor work, internal tranny work, clutch and diff. gears. I enjoy it! As far as spending another 5 grand... I don't know, I think I got my 5 grand out of the original block. It has over 20,000 miles on it. The next one will be able to handle more power than my racing skills could handle.
I'm still way in cheaper than a Z06 and will be able to smoke em too.
