Currie Enterprises 9" Rear installed

Got the currie 9" rear installed today. bolted right up. i didnt have a scale but it weighs maybe 10lbs or so more than the stocker. it was a negligible difference. the driveshaft also weighed less than the powerhouse shaft but i think its only because it was shorter due to the 3rd member being longer than thestock pinion.

if anyone is looknig to go this route, everything bolted right up no issues or problems like the moser had originally with the brackets not lining up properly. also currie is offering built 8.8 rears now with 9" ends welded on already for those looking for a beefier rear like 169Stang has.

pics:

also got the BMR A-Arms in today. they look 100x better then the stockers

also if anyone is looknig for an LPW low profile girdle for the 8.8 rear ive got that for sale as well

i believe it was 3500 including full assembly of the 3rd member into the housing, installing the axels, oil, driveshaft and all. i recouped abut 600 by selling my powerhouse driveshaft so 2900. a completely new 8.8 with new gears, a new differential, axel braces, axel tubes welded to the pumpkin, 9" housing ends welded on and stronger axels woulda cost 2500-2600 including labor. $300-$400 difference was a no brainer.

dont forget my 8.8 was trashed and needed to be completely replaced. way too many 1.6x 60 foot launches on mickey thompson drag radials. i bent the axel tubes, though the axels are still good, bent the carrier gear for the ing gear, and caused major gear runoff. also it was deterined that the pumpkin wasslightly bent and out of alignment. all that combined and you now see the 9" above
