CPR Fuel Rail Finally Installed
So here ya go, the upgraded fuel system is finally together.
Since Im again the first one to attempt something new I've had my drawbacks, mostly today and involving the adapter fittings off the rail.
The CPR Fuel Rail comes with 3 x 8AN fittings and one plug and I wasnt going to use a single one of them if I could. I didnt find out till today that the fuel rail's thread is not what it looks like, 1/2", its a chopped 8AN thread.
So, I picked up a pair of 8AN to 6AN Straight Reducer Fittings and some 8AN Aluminum Plugs for the rear. I finally got these installed and I have been checking for leaks since just after 6pm. My Permatex Thread Sealer frickin sucks btw.

Looks like a lot of hard work.nice looking tho.Is there a performance advantage more volume I gess.What did you put thread seal on.The autolite htzero spark plugs are a colder plug?Where did you get them.
The HTzero is an autolite plug and can be ordered from sparkplugs.com

The thread seal went on anything that wasnt an AN fitting, its the Distribution block that is leaking cause I have 3 pipe thread fittings sticking out. I tried to use the Permatex stuff one more time and allowed more curing time, overnight to be exact. Im yet to crank the engine over.

Looking at these rails again. The regulator atop the rail is rotated 90 degrees compared to stock location. This might an issue for anyone with the Metco block like I am using for the zex and a fuel pressure guage.
The port for the guage would be pointing towards the firewall on the metco (harder to read), and the port for the nitrous would be towards the intake like the vacuum line pictured above, trickier to route.
I dont think the purple block from zex would be a problem,If I recall correctly, the port would face the firewall, not definite though I packed that away.

I wanted to feed the front for more of that "stand out" appearance. I thought about feeding the rear but I really have a thing for seeing the braided lines on a motor. I love that racey look.

By the by, screw thread sealant, get thread locker for NPT threaded fittings. I just picked up some Permatex Blue Gel and the NPT threads no longer leak. Im happy as all heck about this whole project now that nothing leaks, hopefully anybody else wanting to do this wont have to go through any heck since I paved the way.
