Completed! Comp Stage 4 Cams, ARH LT's, GT500 fuel pump.

Hi Everyone,
Car is finally running right! the cams were out of phase by 180 degrees. caution: when doing the cams installation, you have to use the timing PDF file,Which shows the right diagram for the marks on each cam sprocket, when re-installing the cams,to make sure the timing is right. the PDF file for changeing the cams and valve springs doesn't show a true diagram for the marks on the cams.
RH cam side uses the straight mark, but on the LH cam side it uses the L mark. That was were the problem was we had the LH side on the straight mark. I was very lucky that I caught it before running it long. All I can say is the Good Lord was on my side.I could have messed up a valve or piston ,if I would have run it longer before fixing it.
I'll be taking a video of it running later today or tomarrow.

Now I have to take it to Doug @ Bamachips for the Dyno fine tune later nextweek. The car runs fine, no codes or lights so far. But I haven't drove it far to see if it start throwing any codes.
The car will start on the first turn of the key Can't wait for Doug to get ahold of it. The idle is just a tad high, you can stillhear the lope on the cams, but once Doug does his tune on it ,I beleive the cams will lope a little better. I really like the sound of the ARH LT's non catted H pipe.

James,
I am very happy for you. You are a very, very lucky guy that you did not bend valves or put some dents in your pistons. I am surprised that didn't happen with the higher lift cams. I am anixiously awaiting your vids. I once had to re-build a 96 Cobra with 4 cams and must have checked them 10 times by cranking the motor over by hand. After Doug is done with you I bet you'll be grin'n from ear to ear!! I am not sure how long you ran the car the first time but you might think about changing your oil and filter to get any raw fuel that may have entered the system out of there. Cheap insurance!! Now that I think about it... 180 degrees out of time is probably the best thing that could of happened if you are going to get them set wrong. You are indeed a blessed man.

Glad everything worked out for you. Are you worried about warranty issues?

No need to pull the heads to do this mod. No new bolts or gaskets needed. Everything is reusable. You might need to run this mod by your mechanic again. If he says the same thing go find a new mechanic!! Sorry if I jumped in on your answer James!!!

Thanks Scott.. although I see I forgot to mention my mechanic was going to port and polish the heads while installing the cams.. that's my fault. Regardless thanks for the feedback. I apprciate it.

Hey Rafael,
If you are P&Ping the heads in the process of the cam install than forget what I said about the bolts and gaskets. You will need them as you stated. Is this something you are getting close to doing? If so I am official jealous!!

Scott, No problem for answering for me! These stage 4 Comp Cams sound awesome! As soon as Doug gets finished I think I'm going to really enjoy them. The idle is a little high, but you can still hear the choppy sound. It reminds me of what my 1964 1/2 Mustang sounded like.I'll do the video tomarrow, but I'll have to get someone to post them! I'm on a loner computer ,while mine's in the shop,so I haven't tryed to download any video. How do you post on you tube? I have photobucket account so I might try to download them there.

Thanks guys for the support! I feel very BLESSED!The LORD was really watching over me.The car turns over so easy....barely turn the key and Varoom!..lope,lope,lope!

If I pray will he magically gimme a new set of plug wires for my Dodge? Or does it have to be Ford and/or valvetrain related?

thanks dude.. I was actually playing with the idea of holdiong of on the cams and heads and wait and see if I can get a stroker kit. Wishful thinking. However I dont have 5-6 grand just hanging around. Wonder if I can just have then do pistons and rods?? Hmm.. any input guys?? Oh also I want to wish all the fathers here on this forum a Happy Fathers Days. Hope its full of fun, memories and of course so "spirited" driving of our beloved mustangs.

Yes, Doug @ Bamachips is going to Dyno fine tune the car with in the next couple of weeks. I'm just waiting on my custom bumper cover to be finished. My paint man told me it's just about ready for the paint.
I could just put my factory cover on and it to him,but I wouldn't have the front lights on the car since I've cut and re-molded the design.Plus i want it to look good on the video that I'll take during the Dyno tune session.
I'll be taking the video of the car in a little while. Just remember the front bumper is off the car and it doesn't look that great at the minute. Also I had started sanding and polishing the valve covers ,but i was trying to get it ready for a show and at the last minute i desided to just paint them. But I'm going to take them back off at a later date and finish what i had originally started,or save up the cash for the polished Ford Racing valve covers.I'm getting pretty good at removing them ,since I've had to so much lately. They looked good for about the first install, but after taking them off about three times, they got a little scratched.
