Clutch/Flywheel question
Hey guys.
I blew my clutch at the drag strip this weekend. I am thinking of going with the Spec Stage 2+ from American Muscle.

I am also replaced the pilot bearing and flywheel. Should I go aluminum or steel? The car is driven weekends with some drag time.
Opinions/suggestions?
Thanks!

Tim, I'm running a Centerforce DF with a Fidanza aluminum flywheel (along with a Coast DS and 4.10 gears).
It definitely needs a little more finesse off the line, but once you get it down, it does get up and go!
Another thing I noticed recently, when running the A/C and coming to a stop, the rpm's dip to around 400-500 then back up to normal. I'm guessing this is because of the aluminum flywheel. The flywheel doesn't have enough rotating mass with a load (like the A/C) compared to the stock steel unit.

I'm running a spec 3+ with the spec aluminum flywheel. Took some getting used to but once you get the hang of it its all good. Engine spinns up alot faster but you also have to keep the rpm up since you don't have as much rotating mass as with steel flywheel when you shift.

I used a Spec 3+ with steel flywheel and a Ram hydraulic slave cylinder. I had no complaints, it was a heavier pedal feel but not obnoxious. At the time, any Spec less than a 3 was getting bad reviews, so that's why I did the 3 then figured might as well upgrade to the + series.
