Does the 4.6 make a slight ticking noise? I'm not talking diesel sounds or anything, but mine makes a slight clicking-ticking. Is this inherent of Over head cams? I was in my buddies G8 GT and that thing is smooth. I know thats a push rod. I'm kinda crazy when it comes to sounds so forgive me if this is a crazy question.

Everything is up top shielded only by the (relatively) thin cam cover. Plus two long chains working on cam sprockets (what does your bicycle sound like? ) Compared to one down in the block - which typically have nylon type gears for quietness.

I love hearing my cams and valves and chains working!

 

i have an offbrand car and it clicks like crazy ... injectors ...

 

Injectors or valve lash adjusters. Normal as long as its not loud with the hood down.

Same here. Put some long tubes on it or a supercharger and you won't hear it anymore.
