Hey thanks for making all us honest drag guys feel better about ourselves. Your an idiot for doing a street race and thinking your proud of it.

Real smart thing to be doing with all thoses cars around.Pisses me off especialy when two days ago in my home town here. Two rices were racing when one lost control, went over the medium and crash head on and on top of a car with a 7 month pregnant women. Her and her unborn child did not make it.

Way too many cars there to be racing. You are endangering innocent people Take it to the track. For about 10 bucks, you can drag race all night. I got like 8 runs in for 10 bucks, so for a buck twent five a run, I got to run all night, legally, and relatively safely.

As car guys, I'm sure we all have our own tragic stories of wrecklessness and youth. Maybe Klassicyoung can take some advice from these posts. I'm sure no one means any harm. Sometimes it takes third party perspective to realize what you're doing is wrong. :nono:

The track is more fun anyway IMO.

It is that kind of foolishness that results in the high insurance rates for the rest of us. Thanks....

That Cobra sounded mean, but WTF were you guys thinking racing in that area with all those other vehicles around?

yeah go to the track. 10 bucks to race is alot cheaper than some of your other options (ticket for racing).

Geez give him a break. Everyone that posted in this thread has probably engaged in a contest of speed on the street at one time in their driving careers. I am the first to admit that. Everyone here breaks the law by speeding. I can go on and on. Don't be so quick to judge someone, when the majority do the same thing. Pot calling the kettle.....

Flame on

Wow, everyone getting excited over a very short stoplight romp. That was no race.
And every single one of you has done the same thing.

I'm with you Jason.

While I wont come down on you too hard for street racing, I'll just say to be carefull.. Remember, it wont actually be you who something fails on and locks up the rear-wheels.. In the Cobra's effort to keep you off his tail, he may over-tach the car causing an engine failure, possibly locking up the rear-end, and swirving into your lane.. This will place you both in hot water.. So nice race, your GT is definatley HOT!!

But next time Analyze the risk.. Think of what could go wrong, and if it does, how will you react to it... Thats all.. Your a grown man, and know what your doing.. Nice race!

Yep...advice like trying to save his butt or (more importantly) someone else's. The conditions WERE too crowded, even for a "stoplight romp". Any loss of control here could have resulted in injury or death to innocents (or even the guy with the video recorder).

None of us are saints, but you've gotta' pick your fights...and your venues, carefully.

I have actually never been in a street race but I have roared around town on occasion. That said, I turn down at least 1 race a week from dumb a.s.s. kids.

Read everyones comments then I watched the vid. My thoughts?

Nice race.. at least you got beat my another Mustang, but not by much.

From my point of view, you guys opened it up where there was no other traffic going in your same direction and started to shut down (I see both of your brake lights) when appoaching cars.

From what others said, it sounded like there were cars just 'lined' up on both sides and you guys were racing right up the middle (F&F style).
Not what I saw.

Do I condone it? No, but I've sure been there many times.
