changed out plugs....
Welp I bit the bullet last night and changed the plugs in my 2008 GT. Mine you that it's an early build 08. So I have the crap plugs. Well I took my time and cracked the plugs loose and sprayed down with carb cleaner, waited an hour, turned a little more... waited...waited...waited. And I am happy to say NO BROKEN PLUGS! The car has 60K on it. So it was a toss up if they would come out alive. One thing I made sure of was that the Napa by my house had the removal tool (just incase). I have the WORST luck in the world and If i can do it i'm sure most can do it. It's all about taking your time!!!Also over the past 6 months I have been using injector cleaners and the such to try and clean it up before i tried this.

well my budget is TIGHT so I put the same ones in it. After a day of driving I said F it and went and spent the money on some Autolight HT revolutions. They say they are a one pice design. After I put the new plugs in I swear I feel a noticeable difference in power. Probably just in my mind, but hey it makes me happy.

What I have been told by local shops is that is not quite as common as you think to have them break off in the Mustang. Yes, it does happen, but not as often as you might think.

Update... I changed the plugs to Autolight HT1's and I had nothing but problems. I was trying to figure it out all week. The car was hesitating at high RPM real bad, so I checked everything and searched the net for info. Finally I pulled the new plugs and put the old ones back in and what do you know? I was fine! So I took the Autolight's back to Advance Auto with no box no receipt just the plugs, and they exchanged them for me... thats service! I got the OEM Motorcraft plugs. Popped them in and she runs great! Must have been a defective plug or something? Like I said before, changing out the plugs is fine if you take your time and have the right tools. I wouldn't have done the plugs if I couldn't get that tool to remove broken plugs. They have it in stock at my local Napa auto parts store. Just TAKE YOUR TIME and let the plugs soak in some kind of penetrating fluid. I used carb and choke cleaner.
