Thumbs up

Does anyone use ceramic brakes? I hear the are better and won't leave much brake dust at all. My Jeep Grand Cherokee is awful, brake dust everywhere! Was thinking of putting them on the mustang (when it gets here).

I was interested in putting some cross-drilled dics on mine, but its so expensive to get new brakes. I was looking at some Baer brakes and it was around 2 grand for just the fronts.

i dont know how it affects the rotors but i konw ceramic is stronger then steel so i imagine the ceramic pads would make you go through rotors faster....dont know if thats true but just something you might wanna check out before you do it...dont forget pads are alot cheaper then rotors!!!

B) My daily driver is a pick-up (~800 miles/week) and has a set of PowerSlot cross drilled and slotted rotors with ceremic Porterfield Pads.
80% of my dirviing is SoCal freeways.
Planning to do maintenance and replace pads next month with another set of Porterfields.
The chrome rims are always clean and easy to keep that way.
What really impresses me about these rotors and pads is the unexpected life. I installed them at 95K and just turned 182K ... that's unbelieavable pad life. Considering the truck got about 30K on OEM pads.
Well worth the extra bucks in my opinion; not to mention better braking and less fade over OEMs. My $0.02

Because of the way they work, whenever you replace the pads, you need to replace the rotars. So you need to think about it... Is the effort to wash off break dust every week better than spending a fortune once or twice a year to replace the pads/rotors?
