CEL Came on last night...

Pulling into my driveway last night the car nearly stalled, idling horribly...
Popped the hood, and low and behold my K&N CAI was completely loose.
Too late to fix it last night, but I'm glad I had read a similar post on this site last year
or I would have freaked! Car's only got 1,300 miles on it. I installed the CAI about 8 months ago, I guess I need to check it regularly.

Wow, that sucks.... I've had a couple of different intake setups on my car, none of them just loosened up by theirselves.

That happened to me one time with my JLT. The filter was just hanging there. Glad it's quick fix!

I think the three most common cell reasons on n/a s197's are:

1. Something on the intake coming loose and or off
2. The MAF sensor getting dirty
3. The gas cap being loose

Good job finding it, I know I would have freaked out for sure haha.

CAI does loosen from time to time. Also, when older, use cleaner on inside of intake ... works wonders.
