Mike, if you're serious, I'll begin the process tomorrow. As of now, all I can guarantee is that I'll make some calls. I can't speak on their behalf, but I'll call to see what I can do. Is anyone else interested? Maybe a poll.

Very nice, very expensive!

People are swimming down the street in New Orleans and we're talking about carbon fiber driveshafts for a thousand bucks?
A nation of strange priorities. Not here to throw stones...I've blown a lot of money on stupid stuff too, but where do we draw the line?

I say go to those parts of the country and lend a helping hand if it is such a concern to you. Yes, there are a lot of issues in the world aside from this forum. No, we don't have to bring it into threads regarding driveshafts! Last year, I lost 70% of my roof, fences, landscaping etc. to the 2 hurricanes that blew thru my town...I didn't see your support then! There's no need to bring the downsides of life into the things that bring some of us up. Bye!

Wish I could justify the price, that would be a great mod for anyone. Was the stock drive shaft made with a cv joint because of the motor shifting under load or why? If this piece is solid then surely the stock one could have been, seems it would have been cheaper to manufactuer also. So guess my point is whats the benifit of having a two piece drive shaft?

The purpose of the two piece is to remove any vibrations. The 2 piece has cv joints. The carbon fiber will absorb the vibrations better. To buy the stock 2 piece, it'll cost you $500+.

Thats why i love living In NewEngland area.No major weather problems,Earthquakes,Fires or Tornados.Just winter wich gives us a break to build our cars for spring. Dave i want the driveshaft so see what you can do.Maybe i will put the 4.30,s In with the shaft change.I am not going to jump on the supercharger train so i think the 4.30,s are the ticket to low twelves or high 11,s without power adder.i want 11.9 with no power adder.I will get it...........

Bmr is open to walk in's. I stopped by one time on my way back from Tampa. If you take I-4 East from I75, take exit 10 North to 301. Turn right and they are a couple miles down the road. Their shop is off the road a few hundred feet. They have a a little sign out by the road.

Mike, I'm waiting on a call back. I've started the ball a rolling and just waiting on a response. Not absolutely sure what'll happen yet. The only issue I see is getting enough people to buy in on the group buy.

I've lived down here since 1979. I've been thru 2 hurricanes that have directly affected me and that happened just last year! It's either snow, rain, heat, cold, tornado's, earthquakes, flooding, famine, disease blah blah blah. I can't control it. All I can do is protect my family as best as possible and not live in fear.

Wouldn't you get the same savings with an aluminum flywheel for much less? I have seen them for $350.

I'm not sure. It would depend on the actual numbers between the two different parts and how much unsprung weight you'd be shedding. I'm not sure about an aluminum flywheel for the 05 at $350 though. If you have a link, I'm interested in it. I broke my driveshaft which is what sparked the whole driveshaft thing for me. Pulling the tranny is going to cost you quite a bit more in labor. Let's say you have someone who will cut you a break and only charge you $400 to install the flywheel. That still puts you at $750, based on an extremely cheap flywheel. The flywheel's I've seen are in the $500-600 range.
This driveshaft is rated at 1000 hp, not that any of our cars are going to get there. I imagine there has to be some loss due to the 3 different angles that the 2 piece driveshaft creates. I'm not sure about this. I guess I should just make that a question. Is there any loss due to multiple angles in the stock 2 piece driveshaft?

This is the cheapest I have seen. And you are probably correct on the labor, but then I do all of my own work so it would so it would a non factor for me.

Didn't see my support? Hmm...guess you can't see much past your own property line. Sorry to burst your myopic bubble ,but some folks do care about others. How 'bout some gold plated headers to make you feel better?
Bye? I'm not going anywhere.

You act like you were working across the street from my house and you have no clue as to how far I look outside my property line or how many bags of clothes we've sent to LA, MS. My wife is a social worker so I think you don't know what the heck you're talking about. I'll tell you what...We can go to the support the hurricane disaster thread and discuss it. I think I'd like to talk about driveshafts in this particular one. Wrong place, wrong time there. There's no way that you could possibly think this is the correct place to discuss the hurricane.
