Can't get 3rd gear chirp w/ MT stock setup

I cannot get a 3rd gear chirp from my rear tires when shifting from 2nd to 3rd with my 2006 Mustang GT 5 speed manual with 18 inch Bullitt wheels with a build date of 01/06. I had a 2005 Mustang GT 5 speed manual and a different 2006 Mustang GT 5 speed manual with 18 inch Fan Blade wheels with a build date of 09/05 and I was able to get a 3rd gear chirp with both of those cars.

Do you think there is something wrong with my current car?

Theres alot of variables there..... tire pressure, drivers, exact location of road, etc. I wouldnt say there's something wrong with your car because it wont chirp.. heck yours may be hooking up better than his which technically results in faster times if measuring 1/4mi.

and why is this a concern?

Its like asking why my gums dont bleed when I floss or even brush my teeth...

and no, there isnt anything wrong with your car, no 2 cars are alike.

All cars buily in 01/06 had the "chirp" feature disabled by Ford. It was a cost-cutting move.

Of course, chirping tires is cool, ahnd I don't think .005s makes that much of a difference...

That's why I like Stage 1 Buicks! 200ft of rubber, baby!

How many people here can get a 2-3 gear tire chirp? If so, how - powershifting, speed shifting, etc., At what RPM are you shifting at?

Obviously, I'm a 2 to 3 chirp deficient individual in my stock 2006

I'm assuming a CAI with tune and some 4.10 will get me there.

Any feedback would be great - this in one of my primary objectives.

hell, my car chirps the street tires going into 2nd, 3rd and 4th. Its all about when you shift and how much torque you have when you come into the next gear.

Sorry for asking...... Just thought it was strange that I could get it with my other 2 GT's, but not this one. My driving style has not changed, the Tires are inflated to the same PSI and I am driving the same roads. Also, This car seems slower than the other two and it is a performance car and I like getting a 3rd gear chirp. Thanks for your comments.

it's not an '07 so it should have the 3.55 gears as standard equipment.

Mine hooks up quite well. I have been amazed at how fast I can take off from a dead start and so have a few others that have seen me.
I don't hardly ever spin in 1st, but if I do I leave a car length of rubber before I hook up.
I can chirp (spin) 2nd any time I want.
3rd is another story. I have only chirped it once, but wow can I feel it if I hit it hard (plenty of torque). Factory stock it was 295 lb./ft.
18" wheels do make a difference. Tire and temp make a difference.
(EDIT:this is pre-tuning!!!)

I just had the TSB 06-9-9 performed on my January 2006 build manual Mustang GT and it made a world of difference. I think they had a fuel pump issue in early 06 because my car has hellapower now! I have 18" Bullitts and BFGoodRich KDWS tires. I got a full 1st peel, half of second (ok, maybe not half!) and a little chirp in third (almost NO). I dropped my rear tire pressure about 2psi and got rid of the 3rd gear chirp and it hooks pretty good in second. I still can rip through 80% of first gear.

That is what I call "fixed"!

Yeah that's what mine (built at the end of March with same tires and wheels) does. I just try not to spin in 1st.
