can't decide on mods - driving me crazy!
I have been all over the highway with my thoughts lately about what mods to do to my GT.
I started out thinking bolt-ons. However, when I add all those bolt-ons up,(headers, CAI, tune, pullies, cmcv plates, tb, gears) we're talking some big $$. Then comes the question....will that be enough power to satisfy me????
So then, I start to consider heads and cams as a part II of the bolt-on plan. Well, parts alone, you're looking at about 3k for Livernois Stage II heads and comp cams Stage III. The install and tune, would be about $1,500. Add that to the cost of bolt ons and you're at about $7,000
Then I think....the heck with that, I'll buy a s/c and be done with it. Right now I can buy a Saleen s/c for just over 4k. It will produce slightly more hp and torque than all the mods above, and at only 4psi. I could also add a pulley and tune if more power was desired.
With the prospect of buying a Challenger looming over me within two years, I'm a bit undecided on how to approach my quest for power. Any suggestions??

If you're looking for best bang for buck, I'd suggest you forget about the cams for a while.
There you go!

If you don't have any mods now, get a cai and tune- you'll be amazed at the difference compared to stock.
Ultimately I think almost everybody's goal is to get a blower; but the bolt-ons are great to make performance gains without breaking the bank all at once, and also for keeping your warranty intact (for the most part anyway).
