Getting ready to buy the Hurst shifter but I can't decide which stick I want. If I go with the stock style I'll be getting an MGW gripper **** because I loved the one I had in my '03. But I also like the Hurst T-handle and I assume the only way to use it is to go with the chrome stick.

If I get one and change my mind can I just buy one of the sticks by itself later? Didn't see anything listed on the Hurst website.

BTW, what's the best price out there? Was going to order tonight, until I couldn't make up my mind.

I doubt the chrome stick version can use the stock handle, but that's just a guess based on the photos I've seen on various sites. Best price? I ordered mine on eBay the other day for right around $180 shipped

Actually I was referring to the stock "style" stick Hurst offers so that you can use the stock shift ****.
It's part # 3910200 as opposed to 3910201 which is the one that comes with the chrome stick.

My reasoning is if # 3910200 will wotk with the stock ****, the MGW **** would work also.

Yes you can use the stock **** on the Hurst. I had mine that way for a bit. And the chrome version of the shifter is the same as the hurst non chrome, the only difference is the chrome stick part

I do, with the MGW shift ****. It sits a little higher, but that is because of the ****. I want to use a longer chrome shift stick that is swept back because stock is too low and far forward on the console in my opinion. I spoke with a rep at hurst and most of the sticks they sell will fit on the shifter for the '05.

The way you describe the handle you want would be PERFECT!. I used to have the MGW adjustable handle on a Steeda Tri-Ax in my '03 GT and I had it tilted back towards me and it was great.

Here's a pic of the shifter that comes with the chrome handle. (#391-0201)
Does it look like your handle will bolt up to this one? (and vise versa)

I've tried several times to ask Hurst about the swap, but I guess I got the village idiot because he has no clue what he's doing. He told me the chrome handle version wouldn't be out until next month. Of course I emailed him back and told him I had already bought one.

Yes, there shouldn't be a problem with bolting up one of these sticks to that shifter.

You may have gotten an idiot on the phone, or he could have mistaken what you were referring to with the Billet/Plus that is coming out soon.

Here is what I'm going for:

Hmm. I like that. Wonder if they have one like that, but also "leans" to the left a little.

Can't wait to see pics when you get it.

I have one of those if anyone wants it for $25 - it's your's. I had it in my 96GT and liked it a lot. Here's a few pics for reference - it does lean to the left just a bit, but not much to worry about:

The shifter is in 1st gear in the second pic, so that's about where the longer handle would be in 1st

I like how it's angled back and the lean to the left is great, but wow, that's tall.
The one that comes with the kit already raises **** 1-1/2" compared to stock.

Love the black ****, BTW!

I could always get a soft suede headliner like Nole Trainer just put in his car.
